Fines for oversize violations in Louisiana.

  • Any individual who owns or operates a vehicle or combination of vehicles in violation of rules, regulations, directives, or requirements established by the secretary under R.S. 32:380 through 385, or violates R.S. 32:380 through 385 itself, will be penalized one hundred dollars for each violation.

  • Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) below twenty-six thousand pounds will face a penalty of one hundred dollars for failing to stop at a weight scale.

  • This penalty is separate from any other penalties imposed for additional violations.

  • Vehicles with a GVWR of twenty-six thousand pounds or more will be penalized five hundred dollars for failing to stop at a weight scale.

  • This penalty is also separate from any other penalties for additional violations.
