Escort requirements are determined based on load dimensions when traveling on all highways:

Width over 12’: 1 Lead escort.

Height over 13’6”: 1 Lead escort.

Length 80’ or more: 1 Lead escort.

Any axle weight over 31,000 lbs.: 1 Lead escort.

Weight over 79,000 lbs.: 1 Lead escort.
Additionally, a police escort is mandated for the following conditions:

Any vehicle and load that is 75’ in total length or longer.

Any vehicle and load 12’ wide or wider.

Any vehicle and load exceeding 13’6” in height.

Any vehicle with a total gross weight of 120,000 or more.
