Fines for oversize violations in Nebraska.

Any driver operating a vehicle who refuses to stop and undergo weighing, or who fails to comply with directives from a peace officer or carrier enforcement officer during vehicle weighing, as required by this section, shall be charged with a Class III misdemeanor. Operators are subject to fines for exceeding either the axle weight or the gross weight, whichever is greater. Weight restrictions can vary depending on the road. Violators of this section may face a civil penalty of twenty-five dollars ($25) for each one thousand pounds or fraction thereof exceeding the gross weight. Additionally, operators may receive separate fines if two axle groups are overweight. Court costs of $21 are added to each fine.
